In city people’s recent publication, Pastor Chris
Okotie of Household of God tried to
clear the air on why he sent his beautiful wife, Stephanie packing. He spoke
through a minister in his church, Rev. Mrs. Grace Funmi Paul who has been a
member of the church for 25years.
She tried to
reconfirm the love and affection the pastor had for his wife,Stephanie because
he took her around the world, she was well looked after and was showered with
so much affection by him. BUT the Bible says that 2 cannot walk together except they agree. She also
tried to compare the case of Stephanie to a precedent in the Bible. In her
words…”let me give you a precedent, in the Bible, there’s a Queen called Queen
Vershti of Persia,
at that time, the king invited his wife and said to her…come woman, I want to
show you off to my people, and the woman had an attitude. She had pride issues,
so it was that time she said,’ excuse me, I am making up, how can you be
humiliating me by telling me to come and sit down so that people can be looking
at me’. So she refused , and the people of the kingdom rose up against her, and
they said the king must let her go, and this was how Esther came in.’’…..so it
means an Esther is still coming then,hmmmm, I wonder who she’s going to be.
She also mentioned
the 2cases of the pastors former wives as an abdication of roles, one was
physical and the other spiritual. And
Stephanie’s case is spiritual. She also criticized the comedian Gordon’s new
album where he spoke on the pastor changing wives etc. She thought the comedian
should have respect for the pastor as his elder and also as servant of God.
